Named for the group’s unabashed aim – immortality through music – A New Way to Live Forever marks an important watershed moment for an undeniably stale rock scene. The band, known by fans as ANWTLF for short, effectively combines tenets of soul, pop and hook-laden rock for a unique listening experience that is charged with emotion, groove and attitude. Since their inception the guys have garnered comparisons from a wide range of chart-toppers, past and present – from Kings of Leon and Coldplay to Lenny Kravitz and Foo Fighters. Founded by prolific songwriter Russ Rogers (vocals) and accompanied by Phil Tucciarone (drums) of Numb Ones alumni, James Coyle (guitar), Steve Valez (bass), Daniel Dyer (keyboards) and occasionally Todd Evans (guitar), A New Way to Live Forever is well on its way to arena domination.
As for us over here at Civil Defense Music, we’re beyond excited: the high energy and fantastic songwriting of A New Way to Live Forever is exactly what we look for in our artists, and we’re ecstatic to have them as a member of our growing roster. Digital re-release of the 2008 EP Avalanche is currently under way, as are plans for the follow-up EP, Rumoura (2012). The basic tracking for Rumoura will be overseen by Jeremy Staska (Nonpoint, New Found Glory), and final mixing will take place in Los Angeles, CA with Civil Defense’s veteran producer and engineer, Ed Goodreau.
